Documenting the
Romanian New Wave
Romtelecom, Romania's ex-state telephone company had an image problem. They were perceived by millennials as a prehistoric, ex-communist company who embodied the countries oppressive past. As such, uptake of their broadband offerings was being ignored by this growing market sector.
Something radical needed to happen.
We stepped in and created GetLoaded.ro, a content platform which documented and empowered this new generation. It broke with tradition, smashed taboos and concentrated on the things that matter to many a young adult – Music, Comedy, Subculture and going out and having a good time.
We become the engine for this, giving young creatives and taste makers the scene and giving them the tools to document their own growing culture.
It broke new ground in Romania by having the first openly gay presenter, the wonderful Party Paul. It nurtured the first ever group of Romanian stand-up comedians and it was the first media outlet to showcase underground stars such as urban artists Gypsy Erps and Sinboy.
